Jose Mourinho has discussed Manchester United’s ongoing struggles and claimed the club still have the same ‘problems’ they had while he was in the Old Trafford dugout.
Mourinho was sacked last December and replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was appointed caretaker manager and oversaw an immediate turnaround in form.
However, the Red Devils reverted to type when Solskjaer was handed the job on a permanent basis, and they ended the Premier League season in sixth after drawing with Huddersfield and losing to Cardiff in their final two matches of the campaign.

The veneer is starting to slip from Solskjaer and Manchester United
The recent struggles have absolved Mourinho of much of the blame originally laid at his door for United’s failures, and the ex-Chelsea boss believes the problems he faced at Old Trafford continue to haunt the club.
He told L’Equipe: “I do not always do my analysis publicly on Manchester United. I do not want to talk about it and I have the feeling that I do not need to speak, that time gives explanations.

“About United I want to say only two things: One is that time has spoken. Two is that the problems are still there.”
Solskjaer has suggested there will be a big clear-out of the playing squad this summer, with big-name players such as Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku all potentially facing the axe.
Pogba and Mourinho endured a fractious relationship, especially during the latter’s final months at Old Trafford, and he was asked whether the France midfielder was the main problem at United.

Pogba and Mourinho rarely saw eye-to-eye during their time together at Old Trafford
“No no,” he continued. “The problems are there, you can imagine that it is the players, the organisation, the ambition. I only say that I cannot say when you ask if Paul was the only one responsible.”

Mourinho also insisted his claim that guiding United to a second-place finish in 2017/18 is his greatest ever achievement is now clear for all to see.
“I said nine or 10 months ago that after winning eight championships, finishing second with United may have been my greatest achievement,” the Portuguese added. “Now people understand.”
The statistics suggest that Son might even be more important to Spurs than Kane. According to Premier League statisticians Opta, Spurs' win percentage when Son plays (60.9 per cent) is broadly the same as when Kane plays (61.5 per cent). But when Son is missing, that figure plummets to 44.4 per cent, whereas without Kane it falls to 50 per cent.
