Petitioning for bankruptcy can be a long process, but it doesn't need to be a difficult one. Most of it is simply a matter of filling out the paperwork correctly and approaching things in the right order. Manchester United news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will match a losing streak last achieved in 1996 if his side are beaten by Everton

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is facing his first real test as Manchester United manager with his side in the middle of a poor run of form.

The Red Devils have lost five of their last seven games in all competitions after a sensational start under their new manager.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is on a poor run of form

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is on a poor run of form

They won 14 of his first 17 games in charge and suffered just one defeat in that time.

The honeymoon period for Solskjaer seems to be well and truly over with them struggling for form in the Premier League and losing 4-0 on aggregate to Barcelona in the Champions League.

In their last league match at home, they scraped through 2-1 against West Ham United thanks to two Paul Pogba penalties.

They have also lost their last two Premier League away matches, suffering losses to Arsenal and Wolves 2-0 and 2-1 respectively.

United have not lost three away games in a row in the league since 1996. On that occasion they lost 2-0 to Liverpool, 3-1 to Leeds and 4-1 to Tottenham.

Solskjaer̢۪s side will need to pick up a win against Everton on Sunday to prevent that from happening again, with commentary live on talkSPORT for the 1.30pm kick-off.

United have a good record at Goodison Park, though, and have won two of the last three league meetings there.

Anthony Martial will be relishing playing against Everton as he has netted in the last three games between the side.

The last player to score four in a row against the same opposition was Wayne Rooney against Hull in November 2014.

Ashley Young backed to become new Manchester United captain after Antonio Valencia exit, Pogba and Smalling also in the running

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to appoint a new Manchester United captain this summer with previous skipper Antonio Valencia departing Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Valencia rarely featured for United in his final campaign with the club, meaning the armband was instead worn by vice-captain Ashley Young who spent the majority of the season on the pitch.

Young wore the armband more often than not in 2018/19

Young was a trusted servant of Jose Mourinho, and Solskjaer kept faith in the 33-year-old when appointed caretaker manager back in December.

He played all but three of United’s Premier League matches under the Norwegian, and was handed a one-year contract extension earlier this year to keep him at Old Trafford until June 2020.

Supporters were not overly pleased with the new deal, and many are frustrated a club of United’s stature continue to play an ageing converted winger at full-back – something an elite club should not be doing.

And fans are going to be angered when they learn Young is favourite to be handed the Man United captaincy on a permanent basis.

Bookmakers AmericanGambler.com have cut the odds of Young being handed the armband to just 1/4, despite various reports claiming Paul Pogba could be named captain in a bid to keep him at Old Trafford amid interest from Real Madrid.

That’s according to former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, who was watching him in Barcelona’s 3-0 win against Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final.

Footage of Ferdinand and Lineker, who spent three years at Barcelona and also played for Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals, Everton, celebrating Messi’s 600th goal – a fantastic 35-yard free-kick – was released by BT Sport, with the host tweeting: ‘The little genius defies logic.’

Messi’s 600th goal for Barcelona actually came 14 years to the day since his first goal for the club, against Albacete, in 2005.

Barcelona now take a commanding lead to Anfield for the second leg as they eye a place in the final on 1 June against either Ajax or Tottenham.

Naturally, Liverpool fans who follow BT Sport on Twitter were not impressed, with responses to the video following along the lines of ’embarrassing’, as you can see below.
