Manchester City fans seen with their backs to the game as Vincent Kompany fires in sensational winner against Leicester City

Manchester City are the favourites to win the Premier League going into the final game this weekend after edging past Leicester on Monday.

And they had veteran defender Vincent Kompany to thank after he scored the goal of his life to ensure a 1-0 win for the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium.

The 33-year-old picked up the ball 25 yards out before striking it in the top corner, giving Kasper Schmeichel no chance.

It means City, who go to Brighton on Sunday, will win the title if they can at least equal the result Liverpool, who are at home to Wolves, produce.

Kompany’s future in Manchester is still not clear and the goal had an added edge to it with the Belgian reduced to tears as the final whistle went – potentially his last at the Etihad in City colours.

He’s been a phenomenal servant to the club since first signing in 2008, winning the Premier League three times so far.

Could this be Kompany’s last match at the Etihad as a City player?

Kompany’s could well be his biggest contribution to the club’s success and it’s set to live long in the memory among City fans.

However, some City fans will not have any visual memories of the goal as they had their backs turned to the game as it happened!

Below you can see a video and a picture of three fans heading out of their seats, possibly to the toilets, when Kompany unleashed his rocket.
